Chinese Jade Sculpture of Foo Dog and Sleeping Man
Here we have an ornate Chinese jade sculpture on wood of a sleeping man protected by a foo dog. What a scene. There's something really cool about the foo dog leaning on the back of the resting man. The blanket cloaked over him just works as well. There's an intense spirituality to the sculpture. It's a killer piece to take in.
The jade sculpture comes out of large collection of Asian antiques. I listed the piece as from the 50s but I really don't know the age. Happy to hear any suggestions. On the bottom the piece is signed in marker, and someone engraved "China" on the bottom.
The rare jade sculpture measures 2 1/2" tall, 2 1/2" wide and 2" deep. There is some slight wear but I don't see any defects. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
