Chinese Ink Painting of Warrior and Horse | Manner of Huang Zhou

Here we have a rumbling ink painting of a Chinese warrior tearing up the battlefield on a battering horse. What an energy, and what a scene. I love how the warrior is drawing on a sucker to the left, and the flaring horse is looking right at you. They both look like they're about to explode from rage. The serene blue washing the scene puts it on another level. The blue dust will take a long time to settle.

The battle painting is executed in the manner of Huang Zhou on rice paper. The piece is signed and stamped in the upper right. The artist and stamp are mysteries to me. The Chinese art comes out of an old art estate in Illinois. I'm unsure of the age. I listed it as from the 1990s but if very well may be earlier.

The unframed piece (painting and matting) measures 17 1/2" tall and 12 1/2" wide. The exposed piece measures 14" tall and 9" wide. The rice paper is experiencing some wrinkles (see pics). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
