Antique Stacked Leather Cane with Tiger Stripe Handle | 1800s
Here we have an antique stacked leather weapon cane with an unusual handle with a tiger stripe pattern. I think you can just about imagine my triple take when I walked by this brutal beauty. All stacked leather canes have a level of wickedness. Well, then you see the tiger and the tornado alarms rattle your kneecaps. Then to you have the lead(?) grabber on the top. This old stick was made for walking and neighborhood security.
The antique weapon cane comes out of a folk art collection in the Twin Cities. I estimate it was made in the late 1800s, possibly in a prison.
The rare leather cane stands 32 1/2" tall. The top has a diameter of 1 1/2". There is killer patina throughout the cane, including nicks and scratches. The bottom ferrule appears to be brass. There is a slight bend to the walking stick. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
