Antique Snake Walking Cane Made of Diamond Willow Wood

Here we have an antique folk art diamond willow walking cane with a wicked snake slithering its way up the stick. You gotta hand it to the old timers...this is great stuff on all counts, and they constantly delivered. The cane is heavily patinated, leaving a lot of mystery, and one h*** of a snake. Check out the spots along the back of the serpent. Another snake may be present in the depths. You can see two segments on opposite sides ion the main feature.

The wood carver is a mystery, which is a shame. I bet he/she had a few stories to tell. The authentic walking stick came out of a Twin Cities collection containing many antique, vintage, and folk art canes.

The antique cane stands 35 1/2" tall, with a width of about 2" at it's widest point. As stated above, there's plenty of patina. There is wear present on the handle. along the back of the snake, and along the edges of some of the diamond willows. There is a natural split in the wood of three of the willows (see pics). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the snake cane.

The temptation and representation of evil is as old as the human experience. It's biblical. This snake is a warning, and a sweet looking warning at that.
