Antique Johnston Desk Globe on Ornate Cast Iron Base | 8" AS IS

Here we have an antique A.K. Johnston desk globe with an ornate japanned claw foot base. This early 1900s beauty is one of the rare 8" globe diameter versions. If you want to talk about a little stunner sitting on the corner of your desk, or lit by half-light in the corner of your room, let's talk about this high class survivor. Style never goes out of style, as they say. Plus, she's a great reference for your constant jetsetting. Sweetness.

The 8" international globe was likely made in the first few years of the 20th century by the W. and A.K. Johnston company. The vintage globe comes out of an old Twin Cities estate.

The antique international globe and base measures just over 14" tall. As stated above, the globe has a diameter of 8". The lithograph sphere spins without issue. A circular spot in Africa is dented and/or repaired (see pic). Otherwise, the globe has light patina throughout, resulting in cool look for your early 20th century decor. There are a few areas of discoloration on the globe (see pics). The japanned cast iron base has great patina as well. The connecting bracket doesn't sit fully flushed with the cast iron bracket (see pic). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
