Here we have a rare japanned copper flash strong from the turn of the century. I love the zig zags of this bad boy. There are rivets everywhere, accentuated by the rare copper oxide design. A rare and wicked piece.
The antique japanned strong box came out of an old prominent estate in Wisconsin. The piece was made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. I can't find a maker's mark on the piece.
The antique japanned strong box measure about 12" wide x 6" tall x 8" deep. There is perfect patina from age throughout the strong box. There are areas of surface rust. There is no key for the antique strong box. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
