Antique Geisha Nude Oil Painting on Canvas | Early 1900s

Here we have a rare antique Geisha painting on canvas of nude women near a wood tub. Now let's establish that this beauty of a piece is old, yet the colors pop like a soda. I was stunned when I saw the reverse and very aged canvas. And the execution is a four alarm fire. She needs to be properly framed again to take center stage on your wall.

The painting is old...my guess is the early 1900s but I may go even farther back. (See reverse pic of the canvas) The antique painting was found in the Kansas City area.

Not only is the artist a mystery, but paintings from this time period were almost always done on silk or rice paper. Never oil on canvas. Then you add in the fact that it's a nude portrait in a peculiar setting. Hmmm.

The unframed painting measures 16" tall x 12." It has patina throughout...and through (see pic). The light coming through represents craquelure and small losses. And through it all, this gorgeous woman shines bright. Amazing. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
