Antique Folk Art Walking Cane from Forest Service | 1933

Here we have an antique folk art cane from the Sugar Grove Forest Service in Illinois, straight out of the Depression era. I wish this little gem could talk. This is about as pure as you can get. If a member of the Forest Service is in charge of finding the perfect wood stick, you know they'll deliver. It's a cool one. A perfect representation of forest preservation, way before Earth Day. I've never seen another one.

They took the time to carve the inscription and date it 1933. The inscription reads:

Forest Preserve
Sugar Grove
1933

The rare folk art walking stick came out of an Illinois estate.

The wood walking stick measures just over 36" tall, and the cane handle measures about 6". There is perfect patina everywhere, including surface wear. There looks to be a few small splatters of paint near the handle (see pics). There is a crack towards the bottom as well (see pic). Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes please). Free shipping on the rare walking stick.

You can smell the fresh pines when this one's around you. A very cool and unique piece of Depression Era history.
