Antique Cast Iron Lion Decal Plaque with Dueling Beasts

Here we have an antique cast iron mold of two lions having a meet and greet. Real friendly around here. I've seen this lion cast before in pieces produced around the 1930s and before. It definitely has an Art Deco design to it. I think it's a decal or emblem that was originally attached to a a platform of some sort. Whoever used this to represent their company meant business. The metal collectible came from a collector in St. Paul, and was clearly originates from the Wild Kingdom.

The piece measures 11 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" tall at it's tallest point. The piece has great wear and patina, representative of its age. The reverse has a number mark from the factory. The piece is very solid and has a little weight to it. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the piece.

These lions aren't sleeping tonight. They're too busy screaming in each other's face. Imagine this bolted to your old wood door. Whoever enters will be on their best behavior.
