1940s Folk Art Wood Sculpture of Woman in Bikini | L. Hernandez
Here we have a stunning sculpture of a woman in a bikini from the 1940s. This one's all about power and the look, and the seas part when she's in the room. The sheer presence of her puts the dynamics of any space in a blender, and it's delicious. She's a beauty on so many levels. I'll take them all. I can't get over the detail of the carvings, all the way down to the stripes of the garments. That face, and that look. Everything makes sense when you succumb to this beauty.
The vintage wood sculpture is signed "L. Hernandez" on the bottom. The full name of the artist is a mystery to me. The detailed carving comes out of a high end art collector estate in Texas. I believe the bikini sculpture was made in the 1940s.
The female bust stands 14 1/2" tall, 4" wide, and 2" deep. There is great patina throughout the sculpture. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

She'll look right through you, and you'll just stare back.
