Here we have a stunning Harlem Renaissance painting of a musician jamming on a guitar, which having quite an effect on a listener. The word "historical" comes to mind. Harlem Renaissance history and blues music history via a phenomenal scene that hits you like a ton of bricks. The way the artist uses broad strokes of paint in order accentuate the nuances is still a mind boggling mystery to me. Case in point. The guitar players hand, and then extending to the pointed elbow. What a perfect pose. Imagine framing this beauty, surrounded by multiple accent lights. I can sit and observe this historical beauty for days.
The oil on board painting was likely created in the early 1930s in New York. On the reverse, the painting is stamped:

The artwork is not signed. The artist remains a mystery. But I guarantee you the artist was unbelievably talented.
