1920s Bicycle Racing First Place Lithograph Certificates
Here we have a set of two bicycle racing first place award certificates from 1920s Germany. The dominating bicyclist?...his name is Wilhelm Koster Jr. He was a bicycle racer in the 1920s and had no problem smoking the competition overseas. But the stars of the show are the amazing graphics on the authentic certificates. I love the leaning movement of the riders coming right at you. With the wind, against the wind, they're all coming for that finish line. When the first place awards look this good you'd kick it down as well.
The 1920s antique bicycling lithographs come out of a Twin Cities institution.
The larger framed lithograph (woman holding the wreath) measures just under 18" tall by 13" wide. The smaller framed lithograph (woman in the center) measures 13" x 10". There is surface patina from age throughout both lithographs. The smaller lithograph is experiencing some slight waves. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
