Here we have a very rare large linocut print by listed Wisconsin artist Robert O. Hodgell entitled "In My Opinion."  When you want to make a statement, go all the way. Mr.Hodgell did just that. You treasure the moments when you come across an artwork that hits you like a ton of bricks, or kicks you straight in the mind. Here we have one. The scene screams of life with major social movement, all thanks to the amazing execution of the artist. I can't get over the intensity and visual detail, perfectly mixed in the scene. Words, words, words. So good.

Here is a short bio of the artist;

Robert Overman Hodgell was born in Mankato, Kansas on July 14, 1922. A painter, etcher, engraver, and illustrator and sculptor, Hodgell studied at the University of Wisconsin where he earned his BS and MS degrees. He also studied at Dartmouth College, and the State University of Iowa.

When I say rare, I mean rare. I can't find another one anywhere. The woodcut print is signed and titled “In My Opinion” in pencil on the lower border. It was likely made in the 150s or 60s.

The framed linocut measures just over 26 1/2" tall and 20 1/2" wide. The linocut looks to be in very good shape. There appears to be some slight discoloration on the right edge of the graphic. This might be discoloration on the glass. The artwork has not been viewed outside of the framing. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes please). Free shipping on this rare and magnificent Wisconsin artwork.

This art is screaming. Obviously.
