Here we have an authentic San Mezcalito blacklight poster straight out of the drug hazed late 1960s. He knows all, sees all, and smokes all. I can say something like "loooook at the colorrrrrrs," but seriously, look at the colors. Nutso! The artwork was executed by Rick Griffin. And this underground poster is as authentic as the day is long. Every scar you could acquire from hanging in a Mary Jane den is evident throughout the piece. 50 years of living it up while hanging on the wall. And the colors still pop.
Here are the notes along the bottom of this wicked hippie poster:
“San Mezcalito, the patron saint & protector of all souls who dig & indulge in the enjoyment created by God, through his herbs, to enlighten & expand the minds of men.”
270 San Mescalito
The rare underground hippie poster measures 31" tall by 23" wide. As stated above, this little gem has evidence of major use throughout, including a few vertical tears, scuffs, pinholes, small areas of loss, and old repair with tape, and a few areas of staining. Honestly, the reason I picked it up was because of the authentic worn look. If this isn't for you, you’re better off looking elsewhere. I personally love the thing. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). The poster will be rolled in a poster tube. Free shipping on the 1970s underground poster.
"Souls who dig herbs"....just state the obvious, dude.
