Antique Tintype of Child Holding a Violin | Early 1900s

Here we have an unusual antique tintype photograph of a young toddler holding a violin and bow on his lap. Not sure if he's hitting the low E stroke yet, but he is well on his way. Even though he has the rosy cheeks, they may be from anger. He doesn't look terribly thrilled by the production. He's holding his own, yet looking to wrap things up quickly. Hopefully the violin survived the oncoming fit.

The rare child tintype comes out of an old Wisconsin estate. I'm guessing the image is from the early 1900s.

The antique tintype measures 3 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" wide. There are discolorations along the top of the image (see pics). There is also general wear throughout the tintype. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the unusual tintype.

Who knows?...Maybe this was the incarnation of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."
