Here we have an amazing and rare piece of California oil history. Lay your eyes on the almost surreal antique photograph of an oil gusher in Maricopa. As soon as I saw this rare beast I thought of the classic film "There Will Be Blood" and the scene of the exploding oil gusher. There're so many amazing historical and cultural references that I'm certifiably overwhelmed...and I welcome that avalanche. You just don't see many of these juicy remnants out on in the wild.
The original old Californian oil photograph comes out of an old estate near Stillwater, Minnesota. On the reverse there are two marks stating the following:
Steven D. Wallace 1651 Connecticut Drive Redwood City, California
The rare oil gusher photograph measures 8" tall by 6" wide. The reverse has definitely seen better days but the full photograph is all there, ready for you to add matting to draw out this amazing image. There is light patina from age throughout the piece.
