Here we have a set rare antique photographs of a logging operation from mid to late 1860s, straight out of the Louis Hill Jr. estate. Holy cow, these bad boys are old. One from 1864, and the other from 1870. Talk about taking a glimpse in time. There's nothing like taking in a local logging operation from 150 years ago. I love both, but my favorite has to the be photograph labeled in old ink "Hung Up." You have the crew chilling out next to a sweet picnic table ready for some grub, all with the view of a flurry of floating logs. Then you add the sepia tone, and you have a scene on your hands.
On the reverse there are typed stickers stating the following:

Louis Warren Hill (May 19, 1872– April 27, 1948), was an American railroad executive. He was the president and board chairman of the Great Northern Railway, which served a substantial area of the Upper Midwest, the northern Great Plains, and Pacific Northwest.
The rare antique photographs measure just under 4" tall by 5" wide, including the backing. The actual photographs measure about 3" tall by 3 1/4" wide. There is patina from age throughout the photographs. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
