Regular price $1,000.00

Here we have a stunning large WPA era painting of a soldier dealing with the brutality of war. Some art is a locomotive hitting you with emotion, execution, history and visionary power. The first time I saw this groundbreaker up close, I was at a loss for words. All I can say now is this is why art is a critical part of the human experience. The fact that it's a WPA era painting is the sledgehammer for me, personally. Heavy power.

The striking war painting was likely made in the 1940s. The frame was made by the M. Grumbacher company in New York. The painting is signed illegibly in the lower left corner. It looks like "Pastor...." (see pic). Right now we're dealing with a mystery artist. The vintage war painting comes out of a very high end art collector's estate in the Twin Cities.

The unframed WPA painting measures about 30" tall by 18" wide and 1' deep. There is craquelure throughout because of the age and thick paint used. There are random small chips as well. None of it takes away from the utter power of the piece. A stunner. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship Fed Ex to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the rare 1940s World War II painting.

No words.
