Outsider Art of Circus Act from 1980s | Weird Artwork Signed J. Mohni
Here we have an outsider art piece of a bizarre circus scene from 1982. There is so much detail going on in this one. Lines, and lines, and more lines. Obsessive, if you will. And she's quite the performer, and check out the perfect rosey cheeks! Such a cool and weird image. I love the Exorcist style twist she's doing, and the horse is making sure you got your eye on the prize. This one will make you do cartwheels, or hula hoops.
The weird circus art comes out of an estate in the Stillwater Minnesota area. The rare artwork is signed J. Mohni near the horse leg, and on the reverse as well. I haven't found anything yet, so we have a mystery artist on our hands.
The ink and watercolor on board measures 15" wide and 10" tall. A few corners are slightly bent. There is slight wear throughout but it doesn't take away from the potent image. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
