Here we have an early, original surrealist painting by the renowned Israeli artist, Meir Pichhadze. As soon as this beauty entered my vision, I was overloaded with visions of Tim Burton and Edward Scissorhands. When you research Mr. Pichhadze, this scene won’t surprise you. He’s known for his unique blend of symbolic, surreal, and sometimes naive styles. Well, there you have it. Check out the  mysterious night scene: a lone violinist in a black tuxedo stands in a dark, atmospheric landscape, playing his music for a woman sitting atop a cloud. This dreamy, symbolic composition evokes themes of longing, isolation, and romanticism.

Here’s a bit more about the artist Meir Pichhadze:

Born in 1955 in Kutaisi, Georgia, Meir Pichhadze (1955-2010) immigrated to Israel with his family in 1973. He is considered one of Israel's most prominent and influential painters. This piece is an especially early work, created just three years after his immigration, before he began formal studies at the Kalisher College of Art in 1983. His style was deeply influenced by the Georgian primitivist painter Niko Pirosmanashvili. Pichhadze was known for creating moody, complex figurative scenes, often on black canvases, stating, "I prefer to start painting by covering the canvas in black, like an existential bedding and then illuminate it.” His works are featured in major collections and museums, including the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.

The rare painting comes out of an art collector’s estate in Chicago. The painting is signed and dated 1976.

The professionally framed painting measures 28” tall by 20” wide. The exposed artwork measures 17” x 11”. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

The painting will be shipped fully insured to street addresses via UPS (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the amazing surrealist artwork.

For all you hopeless romantics, this experience is for you.
