Here we have an unusual outsider art painting on cardboard of a dude praying in the middle of the sea. This piece is Biblical! We even have Greek characters translating to “Inside the Iris of my life.” You’re living in a storm, fella! Can’t help thinking about the artist’s drive to document his personal struggles and faith in such an unusual way. He apparently has some wicked strong leg kicks. Welcome to the world of outsider folk art.
The vintage outsider art painting is signed with a monogram. I haven’t figured out the maker so we’re dealing with a mystery artist. Based on the materials, I believe the artwork was created in the 1940s but it might be earlier. The painting came out of an old estate in Wisconsin.
The outsider artwork measures 21 1/2" tall by 13 1/2" wide. There are a few puncture holes in the painting and general surface wear throughout the piece. The rest of the image is just outsider art goodness. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
