Here we have an antique folk art walking cane with a wicked snake slithering its way up to the handle. You gotta hand it to the old timers...this is great stuff on all counts, and they constantly delivered. The cane is heavily patinated, leaving a lot of mystery, and one beast of a snake. Check out the gold collar around the neck of the serpent. This one is epic and biblical. Look it up!

The artist is a mystery, which is a shame. I bet he/she had a few stories to tell. The walking stick came out of folk art collection in Iowa. I was told this piece was created around the turn of the century.

The cane stands 34 1/2" tall, with a diameter about 1 1/2". As stated above, there's plenty of patina. There is wear present on the handle and along the back of the snake..The brass ferule is stick doing it's job. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only. Free shipping on the snake cane.

The temptation and representation of evil is as old as the human experience. This snake is a warning, and a beauty of a siren song.
