Regular price $200.00

Here we have a very rare copy of the 1960s underground psychedelic Los Angeles newspaper, The Oracle of Southern California. The exploding periodical starts with a bow and arrow bang, and doesn't let up. You have wild cover art by Liz Greene as well as articles like Birth of a Tribe, H.P. Lovecraft, Loving Hip Community, and The Yoga of Sex and the Magic Mushroom. You know, your typical fare. The pictures and articles will blow your mind and bend your reality. Such a wicked glimpse to the 60s Southern California underground.

The Oracle of Southern California only existed for 1 year. The first issue was published as "The City of Los Angeles Oracle in March 1967. Issue #7 was published in November 1967, and proceed to melt their readers minds. The 40 cent version is even more rare because they were reserved for people outside of California. Very few people ponied up because it was an insane amount of money for an underground newspaper, so much so that they destroyed most of them. And yet here we are.

The underground psychedelic zine measures 11 1/4" x 15 1/8" with a total of 24 pages. There is evidence of light use and decades of storage. There is some discoloration along the edges of some of the pages, but nothing that takes away from the power of the periodical. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the rare hippie magazine.
