Bauhaus Style Table Lamp with Unique Knuckle Shade Adjuster

Here we have a rare Bauhaus stye antique table lamp straight from catacombs of an old St. Paul estate of an old lighting business. To say this rare light needed some dusting off would be an understatement. A full rewiring job brought this Frankenstein back from the dead, complete with all the scars. The patina is striking and consistent.

But that unique design, straight from the underground. The hook arm and white On/Off switch is right out of the Bauhaus world. This thing sets a mysterious mood in any room because it's not that tall. When the shade faces straight down, the mood is set more by the reflected light from the surface. When the shade bends, then the look gets even funkier (see pics). It's like the mysterious gent at the bar minding his own business yet taking a slide glance towards the action. So wicked.

The base and hook arm don't magnetize, so I think it's brass. However, the shade does magnetize. My guess is this rare piece of industrial design was created in the 1930s. I can't find a maker's mark anywhere. The designer of this little gem stepped full on into the world of rare industrial decor.

The antique light stands 15 1/2", about 10 1/2" deep, and the shade measure 8" in diameter. As stated before, there is patina everywhere, including surface rust, scrapes, bruises, and general wear. The base is very patinated (see pics). The hook arm slants slightly to the left when viewing from the back. The lamp was rewired. The on/off switch works. The only thing missing is the bottom cover plate (see pic). I recommend picking one up or resting it on something equivalent. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on this vintage and unusual table lamp.

I'd love to say you can just walk around the corner and find another one. You won't. I'm sure I won't either.
