Here we have a high quality 1940s banker's lamp by renowned New York lighting designers Louis Baldinger & Sons, who have a long history of creating custom lighting for world-renowned architects and designers. In other words, they are the bees knees, and this vintage banker's lamp is money all day long. Love the Deco horizontal lines right in the center of the forehead for this beauty. Add in a ton of surface patina, this is high class with a hard charging attitude.

Underneath the long milk shade you will find the Louis Baldinger & Sons maker's mark, which states Brooklyn, meaning this was produced during the first part of the company's history. Here's a brief history, courtesy of archello.com

"Louis Baldinger was an immigrant brass turner, who founded the company that bears his name in 1893. The company operated out of a small storefront plant in the historic Williamsburg section of old Brooklyn and specialized in creating and manufacturing beautiful decorative gas lighting fixtures."

The rare banker's lamp stands 15" tall at the finial's peak, about 19" wide at the shade, and about 5" deep. The light is functional with a newer inline switch. The bottom base is exposed...not sure if this is by design or if a piece is missing. If you quickly turn it on, then off, then on again, the light will take a few seconds to come back on. As stated above, there is surface wear patina everywhere. Personally, it's what drew me in. If you're looking for a pristine, perfect version, you're looking in the wrong place. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

The piece is available for LOCAL DELIVERY only. Given the rarity and beautiful cream glass, I'm not risking it.

This beast creates a beautiful harmony when lit. Check out the pics again.
