Antique Folk Art Walking Cane of Hand Holding the Handle

Here we have a exquisitely carved and unusual folk art cane of a hand grasping the handle of a walking cane. My mind is bending just typing that sentence. The unusual turn of the century artwork had me as soon as I laid eyes on the unusual carving and perfect patina. The elongated finger is all the business, including the detail of the fingernail. The way the fingers wrap around the square end of the cane is a multi-dimensional marvel. If you can't tell, I'm seriously digging on this functional work of art. It's one of the best folk art carvings I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
The antique walking stick comes out of the estate of a serious Midwest folk art collector. Everything he owned was a cut above. I believe the carved walking stick was created around the turn of the century.
The antique folk art cane stands 35" tall, with the diameter at the thickest end measuring 1". There is patina from use throughout the cane, including wear on a few of the fingers and various spots on the shaft. The ferule is missing, as there looks to be a carved housing for the original ferule. The walking cane is still a solid piece of art. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the amazing folk art cane.
I'll never stop saying it. Old folk art is the gift that keeps on giving.
