Here we have a stunning 19th century folk art walking cane with a dragon head motif and intricate carvings throughout the stick. Deep breath! I'm honestly gobsmacked by this cane because everything is carved. Canes from the 1800s were all about making a statement, and the folk artist who created this one opted to stick his nose up at the establishment. Your petty silver melts away when confronted with the underground madness of this unique design.
The rare walking cane came out of a collector's estate in the Twin Cities area It was likely was created circa 1880. At some point in the history of the cane an honest repair was implemented on a crack in the middle of the cane with an old nail.
The folk art walking cane stands 36" tall. There is perfect patina throughout the stick, including slight surface wear. As stated above, there is a repair in the antique European stick. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the European folk art cane.
The dragon flies with power. And the carvings never end.
