Here we have a vintage painting of an African American woman given a stunning Cubist shading treatment. I saw this beauty from a mile away and bee-lined the ultimate bee-line. You could even tell from a distance the power of this painting. Evocative and a cold-clocking punch. She had me immediately with those eyes. Yes, I'l happily admit I'm a sucker for her over and over.
The vintage painting came out of the estate of a prominent African American art collector on the Southside of Chicago. I was told the artist was also from the Southside as well. The painting is signed "Lanier" and I'm still researching. I also was told the piece was likely painted in the late 1960s or early 1970a. Soul Power all the way.
The framed Cubist painting measures 31 1/4" tall and 17 1/2" wide. The painting is experiencing crackalure throughout. The frame is solid but a replacement isn't a terrible idea. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the vintage painting.
