Here we have a surreal vintage illustration by listed artist Rodger Gerberding. Wow, look at that electrical outlet! Not much else going on here....maybe a few other things are going on in this killer scene, most of which I can't explain. Just let it go, and let your eyeballs burn. The shadowy detail in the vintage illustration is bonkers. And I'm not looking at this lady the wrong way, but I will look, and probably fry. This is a great one, y'all.
The rare illustration is signed and dated 1987. Mr. Gerberding is a prominent illustrator for books and magazines, but I'm not sure which one holds this stunner. I know I want to read it!
Here's a biography on the artist on the Red Barn Studio website:
-------
Roger Gerberding studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the Goodman School of Drama. While educated as an illustrator and an art historian, as an artist he is a renaissance man in every sense of the word. In addition to his substantial gallery credits, his creative work beyond the gallery setting has included a wide variety of projects and media – from magazine and book illustration, to literary criticism, poetry, acting and teaching. Gerberding’s art has been collected by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Minnesota Historical Society…and privately by the late Patty Duke, Kat Von D., Judy Collins, Dick Cavett, Stephen King, and numerous others.

The framed original artwork measures 22 1/2" tall, 18 1/2" wide, and 2" deep. The artwork is in great shape, as is the original frame. The matting along the bottom edge has some slight discolorations, none of which takes away from the piece. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare illustrator artwork.
You can burn your eyes out if you look straight into an eclipse. There's one other way you can burn your eyes out. Killer illustration.
