Here we have a rare museum quality British engraving by Richard Earlom (1743 - 1822) entitled "The Prodigal Son." The rare European print is from a painting by Salvator Rosa, and the print was published by John Boydell in London, 1766.
The text at the bottom reads as follows:

Taken from a Noted Capital Picture painted by Salvator Rosa in the Collection of the (????) the Earl of Oxford at Houghton

This are British engraving is from the 18th century. I can only find examples in museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
The framed artwork measures about 18 1/2" x 14 1/2". The exposed image measures 14" x 10". The antique print is in great condition for its age. I can only find one small spot of slight discoloration, near the "P" in the "Prodigal Son" title. There are some small creases near the edges. I have not inspected the piece outside of the frame.
