Rare WPA Era Print by Clarence Shearn | 1930s New York Artist

Here we have a rare WPA era signed print of a wicked mountain range by listed New York artist Clarence Stearn. This beauty had me at first glance. I love the WPA style, and this rare print is oozing with it. I can look at it for hours. The flow of the shading is as good as it gets. And then you top that off with the fact that Mr. Stearn only made 15 of these gems in the 1930s.

The rare WPA style print came out of a prominent Twin Cities collection of rare WPA style prints from the 1930s. The piece is signed in graphite in the lower right, and marked 5/15 in the lower left. On the reverse there is a tag for Radlein's Art Shop in St. Paul.

The framed print measures 13" tall and 14" wide. The exposed print measures 7 1/2" tall by 8 1/2" wide. The print has not been inspected outside of the framing. There are some slight wrinkles along the top edge of the matting (see pic). There is some slight toning as well. Also, the inside of the front glass will benefit from a cleaning...a small smudges projects a shadow onto the print above the mountain on the left. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare WPA artwork.

Did I mention that I love WPA art? Cold clocked every time. So good.
