Regular price $150.00

Here we have a rare child drawing by listed Minnesota artist John Beauchamp (1925-2019). Nothing like a drawing of the Eiffel tower with planes everywhere. You even have a couple fellas on the ground, one either shooting film or a gun. Not bad for a seven year old on his way to becoming a prominent artist.

The Depression Era child drawing comes directly out of the Beauchamp estate, as does the other Beauchamp artwork on the site. Beauchamp didn't sell any of his artwork while he was alive. I feel lucky the opportunity to see inside the artist's formulating mind during the such an infamous time in the history of the US and the world. The Eiffel Tower drawing is dated 1932 in the upper left corner.

Here's a short biography, courtesy of mlps.com -

John Beauchamp was born in Mankato, Minnesota in 1925. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1954 and was Instructor of Drawing and Painting at the University of Minnesota from 1957-1959. His paintings are in the collections of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. John passed away in May this year at the age of 94.

Here is Beauchamp's painting at the Walker Art Center:

The Eiffel Tower framed drawing measures 15" tall by 17 1/2" wide. The exposed drawing measures 8 1/2" tall by 11" wide. There are creases and losses along the upper edges. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping the powerful Depression Era artwork.

Kid's stuff. Yeah.
