Here we have a stunning bronze relief sculpture of a suited hand rising with a man at rest laying in the palm...of course, holding a flower. I'll give you a moment to take it all in. I'm still trying to take it all in. The fact that it came out of the heart of 1969 elevates the mystery while also making a ton of sense. Not sure if the dude in the palm is permanently at rest or just chilling with a flower. I absolute love this beast. And it is a beast, as in 40 pounds of dense brass. A total underground industrial tour de force. I've never seen anything like it. Check out those pics again.
The 1960s surreal artwork was discovered in southern Minnesota. Not sure if it originated there. The artwork is signed "S.C" and dated 1969. Still haven't pinned down the creator so we're dealing with a mystery artist.
The vintage bronze artwork measures 21" tall by 13" wide, and 3/4" deep. As stated above, the piece weighs just over 40 pounds. It is a heavy beast. There is amazing patina everywhere. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
