Here we have a WPA era graphite drawing of a Modernist man doing his best Max Headroom impression. The Cubist framework of the head reveals a pondering look of concrete. The artist was pushing the boundaries into blocks, and the result is something that'll grab their attention. If anything, his Adam's apple will.
The vintage Cubist style drawing is signed in the lower right corner by the artist Lloyd Stransky. He was a Minnesota artist in the 40s and 50s. I believe this piece was created in the late 1940s. I have other pieces by this artist in the shop, all coming from the estate of a collector of 930s-40s art.
The framed artwork measures 18 1/2" tall by 12 1/2" wide. There are some scuffs to the plastic cover. The frame works but an upgrade is not out of the question. Given the style of the drawing, I'm not sure if the discolorations around the figure are intentional or not. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the WPA era artwork.
