Machine Age Industrial Bookends with Stacked Brass Weights

Here we have a pair of Machine Age bookends with a heavy set of stacked brass elements, creating the coolest industrial bookends this side of the Mississippi. This is so me I can't even tel you. They pack a punch by the sheer weight alone. All you have to do is imagine a mad scientist or architect back in the day needing his/her big bound books resting in peace on their big shelves. When they peer up, they see the glowing stacks of brass singing to them. Not a bad scene!
The modernist art bookends come out of the Twin Cities estate of an eccentric collector with a collection of very rare items from the early 1900s. On the bottom of one of the bookends is a red pencil marking stating "EOS Dec, '70." This was likely the markings from an estate sale back in 1970 signifying the end of sale.
The industrial 1920s bookends measure 6 3/4" tall by 6" deep and 4 1/2" wide. As stated above the bookends have some good weight to them. There is a patina from age throughout. The books in the photo are not included. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
