Here we have a small panoramic photograph of Zabriskie Point at Death Valley in California. First of all, hats off to Anton Heidrick, who scrambled to capture the perfect light from the sun. He succeeded. I can look at this beauty for days. The various tones and shadows. It’s quite fitting that the Death Valley will haunt you to no end. What an image. What a natural slice of life.
The notes at the bottom read as follows:

Here’s a short biography courtesy of the Monterey County local wiki:
Anton C. Heidrick (January 18, 1876 – September 8, 1955), also known as A. C. Heidrick, was an American pioneer photographer and bandsman on the Monterey Peninsula. Known for his large-format panoramas of New Monterey, he is best known as the official photographer of the Presidio of Monterey. He used panoramic photography to document large group assemblies, celebrations, and scenic views. His photographic collection are held in the permanent collections of the Defense Language Institute, the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, the Monterey Public Library, and the Monterey County Historical Society.
This rare photograph came out of a collector’s estate in Iowa. The panoramic was likely produced sometime early 1900s.
The unframed photograph measures about 12" wide and 4" tall. The photograph has some patina from age but it doesn't take away from the image. There is more exposure on the right and left edges. There is also evidence of adhesive on the reverse. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
