Here we have a rare and early folk art horn display with a mining symbol in the heart of the piece, complete with the crossed shovel and pick axe. I’ve looked high and low and I can’t find another horn display with the mining link. Check out how the artist adorned the horn edges with jagged yet precise cuts of beauty. Then the cool horn connectors. Folk art at its finest. Top it off with the wicked patina, and you're cooking with hot sauce at a historic level.

The unusual folk artwork was found in northern Minnesota. However, it could have originated anywhere given that mining was happening all over at the turn of the century. My guess is the piece was created in the early 1900s. On the reverse there are the initials “B.J.N.” I haven't pinpointed the artist so we have a mystery artist on our hands.

The folk art horn and wood plaque measures 20" wide, 8 1/2" deep and 12" tall. As stated above, there is perfect patina everywhere. There is a slight separation of the reverse layer of wood on lower left. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on this rare folk art mining artifact.

A gem of which the like I will never see again. I wish this beauty could talk my ear off.
