Here we have an Art Deco portrait painting of a nude woman in the haunting half-light. And the haunting doesn't do it justice. This deco artwork is one of those instances when all the chemicals collide in the right way because the shading alone on this beauty will put you over the edge. I could not stop looking at her eyes looking into the distance, looking away from the shadow impeding on her face. The execution of the artist is unreal. The pictures do not do it justice. I couldn't shake the scene or the image, nor did I want to. That look...within the pure Art Deco environment. She will pierce your soul. I speak from experience.

The 1930s painting came out of the family estate of the original artist in Chicago. I was told the artist's name was Ruth Leatherford. She apparently attended the Chicago Institute of Art. Her family hid her more "questionable" subject matter artwork in storage for all these years, including this gem. On the reverse "RAL" is written on the frame in several spots. I was told the painting was painted in the 1930s.

The unframed Art Deco painting measures just over 32" tall and 26" wide. There is wear along the edges and some general wear throughout. There is some loss near her shoulder. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEx to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO Boxes). Free shipping on the stunning 1930s portrait painting.

She sets the tone and directs the show. Pictures do not do her justice. Trust me on this one.
