John Beauchamp Oil Painting of Meditating Man | Midcentury Art
Regular priceSale price
Here we have a midcentury oil painting by Minnesota artist John Beauchamp (1925-2019). The surreal image of a meditating man with an intense glow will set you straight every time. A constant reminder to aim for peace in soul, every day, every time. Love that it's not straight ahead...the surreal exercise pops from every angle.
The midcentury paintings comes directly out of the Beauchamp estate. I'll be obtaining a certificate of authenticity shortly. Beauchamp didn't sell any of his artwork while he was alive. I feel lucky the opportunity presented itself.
John Beauchamp was born in Mankato, Minnesota in 1925. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1954 and was Instructor of Drawing and Painting at the University of Minnesota from 1957-1959. His paintings are in the collections of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. John passed away in May this year at the age of 94.
The unframed original Beauchamp painting measures 34" tall by 24" wide. The surface is in quite good condition. There is some fraying along the sides where the nails are fastened, especially along the lower left side. Add a solid frame and you have powerful surreal image of peace. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
