WPA Industrial Charcoal Drawing with Typed Poetry on Verso
Regular priceSale price
I love this thing! It's a vintage WPA era charcoal drawing on artist board. It depicts a very industrial scene, including old cranes and factory buildings. There seems to be some evidence of letters on the track of the crane. Not sure what it is. And then there's the old typed poetry on the back. Here it is:
Machine, with hungry jaw to move the earth, With strength in steel, that man has made To ease his burden, spanning terra's girth Swing East, swing West, fear not the steepest grade.
The framed artwork measures 22" x 18". The vintage frame is solid. There is some crackling and wrinkles on the surface of the artist board but it doesn't take away from the piece at all. Overall, very solid. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Shipping included on this one.
Here's to terra's girth! You got stories to tell with this one. Don't miss out on this rare and industrial WPA artwork. It's poetry in mechanical motion.
