Antique Industrial Light Fixture with Cast Iron Chain

Regular price $65.00

Here we have an old primitive industrial light fixture straight out of a horror movie. First things first, look at the size of the cast iron chains. I normally only find chain links this big out in farm land...and there's usually towing involved. The chain links are 2 1/2" long and 1 1/4" wide. Then you add the two cast iron extension ends. Gnarly.

I fully admit that light fixtures don't usually grab me, but there has to be a story behind this one...

This thing must have hung in a warehouse, barn, or meat locker. You have the splattered paint that doesn't rosy the picture at all. Imagine a cold, dark room with a lone light, slowing swinging low, back and forth, and making that creepy creaking sound. Yeesh.

The authentic light fixture was found in the Minneapolis area. The origins are mysteriously unknown. My guess is an old Minneapolis warehouse or rural Minnesota setting, from the 1920s or earlier.

The piece measures 29" from top to bottom. There is patina everywhere. Rust, scrapes, grime, paint...you name it. Although a cloth wire is present, the wiring hasn't been tested. It needs a little restoration. The piece is sold AS IS. Now it's your turn to take this bad boy to the next level. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

This thing makes other industrial light fixtures cower and blush. It's a bad man found in a dark alleyway. So wicked. Now its time to bring it into your industrial decor. Don't miss out.
