There's no immediate explanation for what's going on with this hat, except for one thing: This guy or gal was the unique, and likely the king of their territory. It oozes Mad Max and punk rock, and even Rockabilly if you so desire. So let's dive in to the details:

- The Cryptic Front Emblem - I think it's "BBG", or "AAG", or any combination. In 1955, Fred Heyman, sports illustrator for the Post-Standard in Syracuse, NY, illustrated a piece detailing the upcoming bout between The Wrestling Rabbi (Raphael "Mr. Israel" Halpern) and Sammy Berg. He used existing photos of the wrestlers as a reference, then complemented the figures with comic book style text and illustrations.

This illustrated artwork is the bees knees, and there are a ton of angles. Let's start with The Wrestling Rabbi, then we'll get to the artist.

Here is biography of the Mr. Israel, Rafael Halperin, courtesy of Wikipedia:

Rafael Halperin (1924 – 20 August 2011) was a prominent Israeli businessman, Orthodox rabbi, and the author of several religious books and an encyclopedia. In the 1950s, he worked in the United States as a professional wrestler in Vince McMahon Sr.'s Capitol Wrestling

Born in Austria, Halperin moved to Mandatory Palestine with his family in 1933. The Halperin family moved to Bnei Brak the following year, and Rafael studied in Haifa and Jerusalem as a teenager. He also excelled in several athletic pursuits, including weightlifting and karate. He entered competitions and became the national champion in karate, boxing, and bodybuilding. He is also said to have been a skilled diamond cutter.

Halperin decided that he wanted to open a chain of athletic facilities, so he began wrestling professionally to earn the necessary money. His career took him to the United States, where he was reported to have won 159 consecutive matches. He earned the displeasure of some promoters and fellow wrestlers because he treated his matches as legitimate athletic contests rather than a scripted performance. He refused to yield, however, as he felt that he was upholding the dignity of his country. He also wrestled as a face (fan favorite), refusing to break any rules, for the same reason.

Halperin continued to wrestle in the United States and Canada into the 1960s. During this time, he faced such opponents as Antonino Rocca while competing for Capitol Wrestling. He later returned to Israel, where he is credited with popularizing professional wrestling in Israel. His most well known matches in Israel were against Achmad Fuad and the "Jordanian Tiger" Abu Antar. The match with Fuad took place on June 18, 1966 in front of 6,000 fans at the Bloomfield Stadium and caused the police to use tear gas after a big riot broke out immediately after Fuad attacked the victorious Halperin. The match with Abu Antar took place on September 20, 1973 and was the most successful local wrestling match seen in the country, as the Yad Eliyahu Arena was sold out to witness Halperin defeat the "Jordanian Tiger". This was Halperin's last match and after he retired from professional wrestling, he started to study karate and mixed martial arts in Japan.

Full Wikipedia article containing source photo for the illustration:

Here is the biography of Fred Heyman, sports illustrator for the Post-Standard in Syracuse, NY:

The match is mentioned in the Post-Standard newspaper in Syracuse, NY on February 27, 1955:

The framed sports illustration measures 20 1/2" tall and 18" wide. This one will go forever.

------------------------------------------------
Here is a biography of Mr. Wedin, courtesy of Wikipedia:

Elof Wedin (June 28, 1901 – February 1, 1983) was a Swedish American artist who enjoyed a 50-year career in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota. His main choice of medium was oil on canvas, but he also worked with pastels on velour, carved wood, and stainless steel.

Elof Wedin was born in Härnösand, Ångermanland, Sweden. His father was a shopkeeper. Elof learned his trade of insulating and lining boilers while living in Sweden. He immigrated to the United States in 1919, taking up residence in Minneapolis, MN. Elof Wedin entered night school at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts in the early 1920s. In 1926, he went to study under George Oberteuffer (1878–1940) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Two years later, he returned to Minneapolis. In 1928, Wedin began his career as a boilermaker, insulating boilers and ductwork with asbestos. While Wedin worked a day job in thermal power stations, he painted on evenings and weekends.

Wedin's early works, from the 1920s to the mid-1930s, are best described as representational. His major influences during this period were Rembrandt, Amedeo Modigliani, and Impressionism. Wedin did much Portrait painting, which he enjoyed. Wedin once said Merely pretty people don't make the best pictures. They've got to be interesting. He liked women best, and his wife often sat for him. I never get tired of painting her; she's never the same person twice. During the 1930s, his portraits featured oval faces and elongated features, inspired by the works of Amedeo Modigliani.

Wedin also painted Landscape art, an interest that was the subject of his entry in the 1934 Minnesota State Fair. During the depression, Wedin painted for several New Deal art projects, producing a series of Minneapolis street scenes under the Public Works of Art Project, as well as works for the post offices of Litchfield, Minnesota titled Street Scene, completed in 1937, and Mobridge, South Dakota titled Return from the Fields in 1938. He was also a Works Progress Administration artist, focusing on Regionalism, depicting scenes from small towns and from the North Shore (Lake Superior) of Minnesota, where he spent significant time. Unlike many regionalists, his style was a highly Geometric abstraction.

Works from Wedin's middle period, 1935 to 1957, were characterized for their experimentation with textures, free form and pastel colors. They are distinctly influenced by Modernism, but not yet completely abstract. His landscapes of the 1930s and 1940s had flattened space with no perspective, minimal sky, and buildings represented as angular shapes. Major influences during this time included Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and the avant-garde Cubism art movement.

In his later phase, 1958 through the mid-1970s, Wedin ventured into Abstract art, using raw colors applied with a palette-knife technique. By the 1960s he had begun to paint large non-objective canvases in thickly applied diagonals of bold color and black. Brilliantly colored areas that appeared to be broken up at close range would fit together at a distance, producing what Wedin called a "hidden abstract" composition. Wedin's works are represented in many major private and institutional collections, including the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. In 1996 Wedin was one of 33 artists whose work was featured in the exhibition "Pictures for a New Home: Minnesota’s Swedish-American Artists,” at the James J. Hill House Gallery in St. Paul, sponsored by the Minnesota Historical Society. In 2008, Elof Wedin was one of the artists featured in the Weisman Art Museum's "By the People, for the People" exhibit of Works Progress Administration paintings.

Wedin earned awards from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts annual shows, Minnesota State Fair exhibitions, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Swedish-American Clubs of Minneapolis and Chicago, the Women's Club of Minneapolis, the First New York American Artist Exhibition, the San Francisco Exhibition and the Los Angeles County Exhibition.
-------------------------------------------------

vintage-industrial-light-fixtures-with-black-shades-set-of-2-antique-rare-accent-lighting-bar-decor-man-cave-lighting-as-is
Vintage Industrial Light Fixtures with Black Shades from early 1900s

Here we have a pair of antique industrial light fixtures with jet black shades and patina everywhere. With Leprin he visited Moret-sur-Loing, Auxerre and Avalon.

In 1943 he exhibited La Cignole (The Jalopy) at the event created by Gen-Paul. He is principally known for his Parisian watercolours. Although his style is more intense, he painted the same subjects as his father, whose works had enjoyed much popular appeal. From 1929 his work was on permanent exhibition at the Galerie Georges Petit in Paris. His style was a blend of popularist Post Impressionism, typical of the artists of Montmartre, with flashes of bold Expressionism. The shadowbox is quite heavy but hangs on the wall without issue. The bronze tile at the center measures about 8" x 8". There is some crinkling of the black backing paper in the far left corner.
