Repeal 18th Amendment Sign from 1930s | Prohibition Era

Here we have a rare Repeal 18th Amendment metal sign with a boxing theme. This sign makes it clear to anyone that there's a drink to be had, to the level that the 18th Amendment needs to be knocked out cold. Well, I just checked the latest news, and I'm happy to report that it was repealed. Drink up! As for the sign, I can't find another version with the boxing and Depression themed design.

The rare metal sign comes out of an old Twin Cities estate. It appears the sign used a lithograph type of process, as each letter has its own unique character. Since the 18th Amendment was repealed in 1933, I'm assuming the rare political sign was created in the early 1930s. I'm not sure if this a license plate sign given the lack of mounting holes.

Here's a brief description of the 18th Amendment courtesy of Wikipedia:

The Eighteenth Amendment (Amendment XVIII) of the United States Constitution established the prohibition of alcohol in the United States. The amendment was proposed by Congress on December 18, 1917, and was ratified by the requisite number of states on January 16, 1919. The Eighteenth Amendment was repealed by the Twenty-first Amendment on December 5, 1933. It is the only amendment to be repealed.

The Depression era sign measures 11 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" tall. There is great patina throughout the sign, including small losses and discoloration. Only the reverse there is some surface rust. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship FedEX to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on the rare Prohibition sign.
