Here we have a stunning Mid Century Expressionist painting of a folk singer in workwear, playing in a loft or other industrial stage. The expressionist tone and broad swipes of paint will haunt you while also brightening up your day with its calm energy. You can stare at this bombastic beauty for hours. I speak from experience since I have this hanging in my living room. This screams Greenwich Village, especially when you think it’s dated 1958, which was when folk music skyrocketed into the social consciousness. Unreal piece.

The rare 1950s painting came out of a Chicago estate of a high end art collector. The painting is signed "Williams." and dated 1958 in the bottom right corner. On the reverse it is signed "W" in the center.

The unframed MCM abstract painting measures about 36" tall by just under 24" and 2" deep. There is a light patina across the thick paint on the canvas. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I will ship UPS to street addresses in the continental USA only (no PO boxes). Free shipping on this rare New York style painting.

You will always hear the finger picking when you take this in. What a beauty.
