Here we have a rare New England wood inkwell with gilded design including an eagle with a snake in its mouth. You have to love the fortitude of design of the people in New England. And then you have the quality of the carving and gilded design. We are lucky enough to have the original (museum?) collection tag on the bottom, which give the origin date of 1830. Check out every angle. It delivers from everywhere.

The antique inkwell comes out of a collection in Wisconsin who originally purchased it in New England.

The rare 19th century inkwell measures 5 1/2" in diameter. There is perfect patina throughout the inkwell. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
