Here we have a WPA era charcoal drawing of a couple ice skating, with jagged lines as far as the eye can see. I reckon you haven't seen ice skating look quite like this. This unusual drawing oozes Modernism, and has all the style you need. Imagine this drawing in a black frame, hanging on your in the half light. There will be some pointing and questions. If anything, you have to admire the flexibility of both skaters.
The vintage Cubist style drawing is signed in the lower right corner by the artist Lloyd Stransky. He was a Minnesota artist in the 40s and 50s. I believe this piece was created in the late 1940s. I have other pieces by this artist in the shop, all coming from the estate of a collector of 1930s-40s art.
The unframed drawing measures 19" tall by 12" wide. There are some jagged edges, especially along the right side. There also is a fold in the upper right corner. Given the style of the drawing, I'm not sure if the discolorations around the figure are intentional or not. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
