Brutalist Folk Art Walking Cane from Vintage 20th Century

Here we have one of the coolest and rarest designs for a walking stick this side of the Mississippi. The repeating Cubist (or Brutalist) notch style carving makes this wholly unique and solid. Then you add the burnt stripes throwing shade all over the reddish piece. Add that all up, and you have a total equaling more than the sum of its parts.

E=MC-wicked. If anyone ever thought Cubism was lame, think again.

The believe the unusual walking stick was made in the 20th century. My guess is the 60s but I may be way off. I wouldn't be surprised if its much earlier. The cane has a metal rod in the center (see bottom pic). The wood carver is a mystery to me. I don't see a signature anywhere.

The vintage cane came out of large Twin Cities collection of antique and vintage canes. He had a good eye and gravitated towards the rare and unusual.

The walking stick measures just under 36". It measures about 1" on all sides of the cube. There is patina and slight scuffing throughout, especially on the top square handle. There are a few losses on a couple cube edges (see pic). Overall its a really solid, striking piece. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.

I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the cane.

As you're walking down the street with this bad boy, you'll get questions....after the inquiring mind ponders before approaching. It's the bees knees. It may sting but it won't hurt. Wicked and rare walking cane.
