American Folk Art Walking Cane of Flag and Eagle from Early 1900s

Here we have a stunner of an American folk art walking stick, including carvings of the American flag and an eagle emblem. As you move on down the line you have another emblem and rattlesnake (with fangs!) wrapping around the cane. Personally, my eye keeps moving back up to the detail of the flag and pole, The contrast of the bark, the inner wood and the varnish sends the stick to another level.
I believe the walking stick is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. The artist is mystery to me. I've looked everywhere and can't find a marking. The cane came out of a large Twin Cities collection of antique and vintage canes containing many folk art examples, a few of which are listed in the shop. He collected both American and European examples of rare and unusual walking sticks.
The cane measures just over 37". The top handle measures 1 1/4" across. There is patina throughout from age, including a few small varnish chips and wear spots. The cane is solid but relatively light. I'm not sure of the exact wood. The rubber stopper on the cane tip has a 1/2" split in the rubber. Please see all pics as they are part of the description.
I ship to the continental USA only. Free shipping on the cane.
Here's to the mavericks who put all their blood, sweat and tears into something that will stick around long after they're gone. She's a fine example, and a grade A, bonafide, dead on wicked piece.
